Tapp Interiors, established in 1969, was originally a frame shop and launched while Larry was still a college student.  In 1973, after the death of local designer, John Garner; Larry and Shelia Tapp purchased Mr. Garner’s design business (including contents, a 1940's 21st street house and a panel van) and established Tapp Interiors design services.

Borrowing the money to purchase the design business took all the courage we could gather.  Our first child was just an infant, Shelia had quit her very nice corporate job with benefits, and Mr. Garner had been the frame shop’s largest client.   Scary times, to say the least!   We were so young, we had little confidence and even less money.   A local business man who knew Larry well offered to sign our note at the bank.  We will never be able to say “thank you” adequately.  After much soul-searching, we accepted his kind offer and the rest is, as they say, history.

By the time our second child was born in 1977, we were learning how to build a business based on hard work, integrity and faith in the Lord.

We weathered the 80's (for those of you who remember that!)...and learned that believers are not bound by the prevailing economy.  

Today we are most thankful.   Thankful for our humble beginnings, for a man who had more faith in us than we possessed, the very best clients possible, and a God who never fails to be faithful.
